Boyzz Life in 2025

We started the New Year in Peru. where we spent a few weeks seeing, would you believe, large piles of mud bricks. As well as the mud bricks we did meet Spectacled Bears, Mummies, and Incas

Back to Moraira for a few weeks where we celebrated Burns night with Douglas, watched a rugby match and visited a few restaurants

before moving on to India. Lots more about our adventures in India where we saw Tigers

and Vietnam on Red River. We got the right kit - conical hats - and fitted in like natives. We avoided the local fermented sauce, but took part in local culture

and Mekong River . We flew from Hanoi to Siem Reap, and after a bus to the ship, a cruise down the Mekong to Saigon . It was the madre's birthday en route

Back from the Far East for a few weeks, just to stock up on buns really,

We fitted in a quick visit to the UK, where . and we are not big .. ..on genealogy, we met a couple of our cousins. But we think it is much easier to call everyone "uncle" and "aunt"
We like the Dauphin Mind you we were not invited to this party ..but we did get an easter bunny ..and we met a soon to be famous chef

before heading to France to see Auntie Gaynor and Uncle Vic. Uncle Vic had wrenched his shoulder and his tractor was not working, so we had to skip that treat. More photos of our sojourn in France on this link

Off to see Uncle Victor & Auntie Gaynor. We gave Uncle Vic a few hints of improving his cooking We went on to a seriously poncy hotel. We like poncy hotels as long a not too poncy
They tried to get us to eat some really smelly cheese, which we managed to avoid. But we did prevail upon them to get us some decent ice creams in Meursault
And we fitted in a wine tasting in deepest Burgundy. We were very brave as it was quite dark in the chateau's cellars

After a few weeks at home in Spain, catch up with a few of our fans and we were ready to be off again, this time time to Iceland on Silversea. There were even some fireworks, but they are not like they used to be in the good old days

There is a fuller account of our trip to Iceland on this link

Once on board, we established a routine for "cocktails & tapas" with the bar manager We invited the Captain to join us for dinner one night. He seemed very grateful, indeed honoured
Our new Irish T-shirts show off well in the Scottish sunshine We had a thrilling "super jeep" ride in Iceland. That is some big car
Just to show you that there was hard work involved, we had to brave this surf to get ashore ..and climb vertical ladders to scale the cliffs to get to the top of this island
We spotted whales diving and chased them round a bay And visited the Giants Causeway. Though there were no giants around when we were there

A Brief stop at Moraira where we chased a few rainbows

Then were were off to Africa - Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda and across Africa from Tanzania to Angola on Rovos Rail

In Rwanda we saw Gorillas, Chimps and monkeys of various hues. All quite scary as they were much bigger than us, and probably would have liked us for breakfast

Some of the treks were so scary that the madre opted out, so we opted out too So we missed seeing the jumping monkeys. But we did enjoy the canopy walk
. When we made it swing by jumping up and down That made the madre squeal This little fellow looked in to see us in our hotel room
And this is us out chimp spotting A break for dinner at a nice place overlooking a lake
A proper entrance to our Mountain Gorilla Hotel We joined the hotel band for a night - the tips were quite good, but we had to share them
We were lucky to get out of this in one piece. The kids were really frightening Us all with the mountain gorillas

You can see more of our adventures in Rwanda here

Then we were straight on to the nice Mr Vos's train from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to Lobito in Angola - a really big adventure to the heart of darkest Africa

Once we got to the Rovos Rail check in desk at Dar, Mr Vos was keen to meet us again Though he did look as if he was wondering whether to let us on his train or not
We had several opportunities for game drives. We saw lions eating whole animals. We saw heffalumps, lots of heffalumps
And we saw Giraffes We saw this Leopard too, but were so excited, that we forgot to take the selfie
We relax and look after the madre at a waterfall in Tanzania And this Safari Lodge is the sort of place we really like, complete with private pool
Mind you the railway tracks left a lot to be desired as we inched forward at 15 km/hr But there was always afternoon tea to fall back on, though it was banned later in the trip as she said that we were too fat
We still managed to get a regular supply of Margaritas Oh dear, she has been getting into trouble again.Look what happens when we turn our backs for a few minutes
A real Russian built tank from the Angolan Civil War And goodbye to Laurence and Mart who ran the train

And the full story of the Rovos train across Africa is on this link

It was back to Moraira, then to Malta in time for the Old Man's birthday

Sort of non stop party with lots of food - we tipped the hotel off about the padre's birthday, and they supplied a great big chocolate cake. We had a jeep tour of Gozo - lot of old stones there. And were frightened by big bang fireworks in Naxxar

Then a brief visit to Moraira, before flying off to India
