But he was holding on to it, so we helped out at the Silversea desk

We had a good nights sleep, then stuffed ourselves at breakfast
A trip into down town Quito with the padres , where we found .. Sombreros Lopez who make bespoke hats for gentlemen ..Armed with our new hats, we found a cake shop.. .. before heading to the airport and a flight to Galapagos

Our home for the next week -Silver Origin. Hope the food is good First evening on board and it looks good so far The we find the dining room and things are even better It was a long way up the hill, especially with short legs
..but we made it and posed for photos at the top, Not a bad view, ay ! The padres got wet suits. We braved the cold sea without them Paul, one of the guides, had dinner with us

The Marine Iguanas are seriously scary looking fellows

We marched across rugged terrain, leaping wide cracks .. .. avoiding these nasty looking red crabs ... .. and the occasional sea lion, ..well lots of sea lions.
But you could not avoid the marine iguanas These fellows were fierce and you would really not want one ...

,,creeping up behind you. We think they could swallow ...

...a teddy bear as a snack and just spit out the jerseys

Darwin's Lake, dunno who this Darwin fellow is. On to lifeguard duty on board ship. She needs looked after Then we found this buffet, which was worth stopping for as .. ..we could eat as much as we liked. Somerville feels sick!
The Captain must have got a bit lost as he invited us to the Bridge ..to help with navigation and steering the ship. All OK now Ashore at Post Office Bay is this cute little post box. ..and canning factory ruins, but someone has eaten all the cans
Then our Butler, Danny (we said it was poncy on the ship) gave .. ..us a special private ride with a glass of Prosecco .. ,, and a climb to a viewing point . Pembroke was quite exhausted by the climb
Next day we found one of the few giant tortoises, He posed for us Then on to a coffee demonstration where we met the nice lady .. ..owner who want us to pose with her for some publicity photos And we couldn't coax this giant tortoise to come and say hello
Then we went to see where they bred tortoises. And we tell you.. ..there are so .few on the islands that they really need a few more Charles Darwin invited us to help with his new book, but we had .to say "no"as we had to catch up with the madre for an icecream
Our cabin on board the Silver Origin And the rarely lit fire pit The Captain as so impressed with our steering of the ship, that.. He invited us for a cosy tete a tete dinner to pick up tips from us, seasoned travellers with 505 days !
We thought the Marine Iguanas were scary. But the Land .. ..Iguanas would turn tour blood to ice. They are very, very frightening. But we were brave and avoided being eaten Then down to a long sandy beach ..
..for a last swim before heading back to the ship You might deduce the firepit is not lit, otherwise scorched bottoms ..On the harbour on the way home, there were lots of sea lions We found Charles Darwin at last. Still working on another book

This is going home in Premium Economy. We hope to see Business Class next time
