We landed in Cancun, rented a car and headed south to Tulum

Stayed overlooking the beach at Dos Ceibas for 3 nights and explored the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, the only Mayan port |

| After exploring the ruins we enjoyed a cold drink in Starbucks! Next day we were off to Chichen Itza where we had a spacious room and balcony at the Mayaland hotel | |||||

A leisurely afternoon but into the ruins at 8am pronto the next morning, thus avoiding the crowds |

| Then to the Hotel Don Gustav - that's us,miniscule, on his lap! - in Campeche, very old worldly but with good drinks and breakfast . The run down city reminded us of a Cartagena, Colombia | |||||

From Campeche we drove to Uzmal- dreadful road - which was more impressive than Chichen Itza, surrounded by forest. Then on to the Diplomat Hotel Merida |

| ith wondrous hosts, Sarah & Neil. Gorgeous pool right beside room - but mossies liked it too!. Tried the Irish Pub- food good but no welcoming little people | |||||

And after a scrumptious breakfast we still enjoyed the Ice Cream Parlour
Next morning it was an early depart back to Cancun Airport and then one of those jolly wee planes to Belize
