After 4 days at sea we were very happy to have a zodiac ride to see ther thousands of fur seals on a beach on Robinson Crusoe Island. Then we landed at the main town and walked up , passing the idland's 2 WW2 defence guns, to a high

viewpoint in the woods , a long haul! Then back down to the coast to a Pirate party- shiver your timbers!. Food not as good as the ship's canapes, but we got on well with hte pirate

he padre enjoyed a wine tasting, we enjoyed the cakes( which often turned out to have better looks than taste!) and the madre enjoyed a dinner with ex expefition leader, Lea

Sailed past Isla Salas & Gomez but there was too much swell to allow us bears to be safe in the planned zodiac tour, so just had to go back to grazing!

. Then we arrived off Eater Island on the rainiest day for 8 months: all possibility of landing anywhere on it was ruled out. Instead they provided us with an action packed tour of all the main sites the following day, which just chanced to be the madre's birthday !

Really enjoyed retracing our pawprints of 2016: we felt we had come home, seeing all the giant Moai and thee volcano looking much the same as back in our youth. They even put on some grub for us- well, they had to as no food from the ship was allowed ashore!

Cumpleanos Feliz Madre!. . . . .

The most wondrous of garlanded welcomes met us on the numerous Marquesa Islands. A pleasant stroll, with a beach detour!, to an elusive old nunnery

The requisite visit to the Bridge to impart a few words of guidance to the Captain, followed by a glug of some of the ship#s better wines

AT LAST, Easter Sunday arrived and we were in heaven!- such goodies we had never seen!!! Once the crew had seen us once, they always asked about our whereabouts and

c;amoured tp have their photo taken with us

Walked through another old plantation( eschewing the rickety bus- we like to keep healthy!) where there was a truly local band entertaining themselves as well as us. Unfortunate;y the tide was miles out and the heavens opened

Impressed at how they opened coconuts for us but wondered why they gave us such a large one! Funally after 5 weeks this GOOD LIFE came to an end in Papeete, where we enjoyed a fill day in a luxury hotel before starting the long trek back home

And some days and hours later, with an overnight stop i at Paris Orly airport, we finally reach our treasured home with so many playmates in Moraira. . .
