Boyzz cruise in autumn 2022. Madeira to Canaries leg

We had left the lush Azores and headed fpr Madeira . Once docked here we drove to a scenic peninsula at the northern end of the island where a map was unrolled & an explanation of the island´s volcanoew was given.

Our balance must have been as bad as the madre's this day - what a lot of effort to get us stable!! We then drove down to a marina, to a cross section of a volcano cone,, half of which had fallen into the sea |

Next day a fun 4 wheel drive jeep ride to the Laurissilva Forest and Quinta do Barbusano Vineyard |

Now "full steam ahead Captain" for the Canaries, first port of call Santa Cruz de La Palma
We set off on the Views of La Palma tour. First stop was the 15 th century church of Nuestra Senora de las Nievess, just up from Santa Cruz ; gorgeous gold altar.We then drove into theNational Park set in a huge caldera . Parked high up there and went for a 20-30 minute walk with gorgeous views of forest. Then we drove an extra bit to see the volcano formed in 2021

Our Walking among volcanoes 8k hike had a difficult downhill slide for 20 mins: the madre almost turned back! It took us to Teneguia Volcano, ending at the Lighthouse & the old Saltworks of Fuencaliente. A welcome beer- and cake! |

Next morning, in Tenerife, we wandered around the Botanical Gardens before walking round the old town |
