Along the Wild Atlantic Way with the Boyzz 2019

Having settled ourselves in to our Salthill appartment, then too wet for us to emerge in Galway town- no Hop On Hop Off !-
but enjoyed a blustery day around the Burren. Above at Dunghaire castle
Then a tour of the Hazel Mountain Chocolate factory, yum, before lunch at Lillane's seafood pub
and we braved a photo shoot out here in the Wilds. We did emerge from our bag in Galway though to enjoy lunch at Kais

After 3 nights at Salthill, we tagged on to the Wild Atlantic Way signs for the rest of these hols

Leaving Galway, we followed the wriggly worm up through Conemara to Westport, often along tiny lanes. Lunched in pub at
El Charrag. Then stopped to explore Kylemore Abbey, a wondrous walled garden- the mater's favourite, after us of course!
B & B at Westbrook House, once found!, was cold & unwelcoming.

Dinner in Cian's Westport was yummy. Mary's Kitchen the next day - just bliss!- the padres having just braved Downpatrick Head. Impressed by the turf cutting & oh! to drive that tractor !

 

Supped in Teds on Achill Island

We got into this one twice! - well run the Pater!

Then on again, relying on those wriggly worms. to Rosses Point, Sligo

Delicious smoothies & scones in Mammy Johnstones. Ultra modern room in the Driftwood, bath with a view! Nosh in the restaurant was yummy too!
Especially that choice of pudds- can we have one of each, please! . A day out around Sligo: Boyle Abbey then
a trip down the Arigna Coal Mine, no hard hats to fit us, and found some mates. Back through Ballinafad to luxury, and more food, again

Leaving Rosses Point we continued northwards to Donegal

Chat with the lass in the Glencolmcille shop, bought some sheep coasters. Then an explore of the nearby Folk Village

Great to arrive at Templeview Lodge, Greencastle, with the bubbly Sheilagh and her teds! Down to Kealy's Seafood Bar for more fishy food

A final day on the Wild Atlantic. A bakewell tart at Malin Head, coffee & bun at Dunree Fort, back to Moville for some mussels

Final night at Kells with Mrs Duff, alias Therese Allen! A walk round town included buns at the Book Market Cafe & humouring the pater with the cut outs
Dinner in the Headfort Arms with a repeat Irish coffee, after the 1st attempt failed the pater approval test

And back home on a delayed Ryan Air flight.. Roll on 2020 for our next visit to the old country!
