We drove from Moraira to Toledo

Bedded down for a night at the Eugenia de Montijo, in the centre of Toledo. Quite luxurious, but what else would a lad expect from the wife of Napoleon 3 |

Explored the hilly town and treated ourselves to some marzipans, before being Knighted and then enjoying some nosh |

Then on to Amarante, some 50 k east of Oporto

Here we bedded down in the Relais & Chateaux Casa de Calcada in the best room with covered balcony view's over the river & historic town |

A day in Oporto at the Port Lodges

| First stop was Churchill's where we had a tour and then a Tasting of their older Tawnies |

| Then to Graham's, another tour, and then a tasting of different age old Tawnies. Followed by lunch in their Vinum restaurant |

Next day a drive round the Douro valley where all these grapes for Port are grown. We somehow managed to get below the radar this day- must have had too much port the previous day!
.
Then back into Spain, and the Hacienda Zorita, 2 nights' luxury courtesy of 100 bottle tops of Berberana wine that the padres had quoffed

The storks had flown, but we saw loads later on the way to Evora

Well, the cell was a wee on the small side, but what does one expect in an old monastery!. And the view and our hats made up for it |

| And the food and the tasting were great. Just the weather that left a little to desire, and we weren't even still in Portugal! |

And finally we drove south and back into Portugal, and to Evora

| We stayed 2 nights at the Albergaria Do Calvario Hotel,& were soon bedded down after a fantastic welcome . Soon became friends with the resident sheep | |||

Wandered down to the Roman Baths, finding a yummy cafe nearby- my, those Pasteles de Nata were to die for- so we died a few times!, & so cheap. |

It was a great personal hotel with fantastic breakfasts. Somehow ? missed out on a good supper at a local Taberna. Then learnt about corks from Andrea |

A more than soft morning!, but found shelter in a cafe and learnt more. But somehow never saw the b;ack pigs that eat those acorns |

Then a long drive back to Moraira, and sunshine. Sorry Corisande that the padres never took your photo once!
