We had a sad start to these hols: a nasty red Honda crashed into our beloved Corisande on arrival at Valganan, Rioja. But the padres got it patched up the next day whilst we waited expectantly in our comfy hotel. Only to learn later that they had also sneaked in a lunch at Marquis de Riscal!!

Then on to north of Bordeaux, a stylish chateau 'Ormes de Pez'. We enjoyed our tapas and breakfasts there.

Also visited some vineyards: Lynch Bages and Pontet Canet

Then on to Gaynor's & Vic's: we are so loved there and Vic's meals are scrumptious! And the mater arms herself with new clothes from the wee Parisien boutique

Somerville had a wee fright: Fina had spirited her away. But soon got over the trauma

Then on to Arantzazu, near Onate- site of an old monastery with its 1950s church. We loved our Hostelria, Goika-Benta, but found it a trifle chilly!
