The lads set off in February to tour Peru- by bus, that was different!. They journeyed from Lima, to Huacachina, to Nazca, to Arequipa, to the Colca Canyon, to Puno and Taquile, to Cusco, Ollantaytambo and finally, a real train ride, to Machu Pichu, where they went mad! Then on to Easter Island, where they made friends with Kia and tried to topple a few of those statues
. . .
. ...
In the summer they had a week up in the Picos de Europa en route to 2 weeks in England, visiting Daphne & Tim, Stephen, with Sam's 2nd birthday in Canford, Fiona, a week in Earls Court, 2 days in Stebbing visiting the haunts of antepasados, before venturing off to the Baltics. Finally to Yeovil to see Davida & Nigel before returning on the boat to Santander, & thence to Moraira.
.. .
They travelled from Riga, Lativia, up to Tallinn, Estonia, then to Tartu, with its wondrous Teddy Bear Museum, then Ventspils, with its wondrous assortment of cows, on to Vilnius, Lithuania- good cakes there, then back to Jurmal and home. But, they forgot to ask for their photos to be taken even once!
November saw them returning to Cornwall, to sort out removal men and auctioneers for the wine and some furniture .
Then straight off on the Orion2 from Hanoi to Singapore, for 5 weeks, including Christmas. Pembroke and Somerville kept a low profie, in their none too warm cabin, but were excited about the water puppets in Hanoi and had a great wander around Anghor Wat . They were yet again amazed that their parents had another anniversary - this time to celabrate selling Corisande Hotel! - and just wished they had been allowed on the swing in Ang Thong and on the big wheel in Singapore: why do the padres get all the fun?!
